Shows that exercise aids in health, co-operative activities and opportunities for recognition.
Ken Smith remarks: Ernie, Jean, and Hal are three teens who have problems: Ernie is in "a run down condition," Jean is "shy and withdrawn," and Hal is "tense and irritable." But then all three join the Acrobatics Club at school and get into shape. Now Ernie, Jean and Hal "make friends easier" and have "outlets for their emotional tensions." But they're still painfully dull.

Subject: Coronet Films
Subject: Note the Well-Developed Body
Coronet's low budgets are in evidence. The tumbling club is in what it supposed to be a school gym. It's represented by a solitary basketball hoop. There's no basketball court, just a bare floor like at the back of a sound stage.
The narrator urges us to check out the body of Ernie Allen (who later appeared in a scene with a vending machine in Coronet's "The Fun of Being Thoughtful"). Indeed, he is shirtless in a scene with a "doctor" who is another young actor, except he's wearing glasses and a suit to look older. "And, sometimes, there were more serious illnesses," says the narrator over footage of Ernie rolling his head in bed like he's just trying to get some sleep.
Jean Taylor is "a living example of poise and confidence" but the shot shows someone looking bored. The narrator tells us about the trouble she has making friends. Just then, a friend that she isn't supposed to have invites her to play badminton (while wearing a dress). Her life is saved!
There's stock footage near the end with the narrator gabbing away about exercise as the film shows people relaxing on a beach. The short ends with two immobile girls holding up their arms rigidly for no real reason.
Subject: Odd, yet fun
Subject: "Nervous Tension"
Maybe has a more specific significance for Hal. Wearing ballet slippers, engaging in touchie feelie gymnastic activities, all in front of a mincing little gym teacher with a body right out of Mans World...well. I guess they DID feel compelled to "go there" in an occasional film so as to make sure nobody felt left out.
As for the girls? They want to be cheerleaders of course, so they can flaunt themselves at every game. Nothing unique there.
This film is based on dubious "facts" but is interesting in that its recipe of suggestions closely parallels those usually seen in movies on getting over TB or flat feet. I guess fresh air and keeping good hours works for other things too. Follows health film formula of the day very closely.
